I didn't have to pick up a pencil for this deviation, because everything was already drawn!
Today, I decided to compile this. I went through my old works, from 2002 up to the present. It's one of the most amusing things ever to go through your really old stuff and see how art styles evolve, improve, or worsen over the years! Since I started drawing way back when I was like 6 years old, my mom always reminded me to put the date on any piece of artwork or drawing that I did. The habit has stuck since, and that is how I've been able to know exactly what date a drawing was done, as precisely as its month/day/year! I put them in a file cabinet and had them pretty well organized dating back to 2004 or so. For years 2002-2003, I had a hard time finding some of those pictures. And anything before 1998 I couldn't find, so I did not include those.
Yes, there's lots to say about this... Why does it start in 2002? It's the year I became a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog series! (So those pictures of Sonic in 2002 are some of the earliest ones I have ever done!) And 2002 is the earliest year I was able to find consecutive years' pictures. I think I was blindfolded between 2004-2005, because all of those drawings look like dung. And ironically I think I drew people better when I was 11 years old than I do now. Hahhaha! By the time I became a fan of Sonic, I almost entirely dropped drawing anime-looking people; that explains a lot about how they look when I draw them now!
Yes, I used to really love Sailor Moon (RIGHT up until I became a Sonic fan, in fact). What little girl in the 90's didn't?!
I encourage you all to put the dates on the papers you draw on and file them in order so you can look back and see how much you improved, or laugh at yourself like I did at how bad some of my pictures looked. Not that they're that much better today! Lol
From 2002-2009, my style changed a lot and quite frequently, but regarding improvement... I don't see significant improvement. From age 11 to 18 should be like a punch-in-the-face difference in art quality! Not so much for me but... I'm glad I improved at all, haha.
Anything that is in color was colored at the time it was drawn; I did not modify any of my old drawings!
Enjoy looking through (or laughing at) the 'timeline' of my early work! And sorry for the loooooooong resolution!
Your skills have grown! But even way back then, you were still good!

I must say, you were a much better artist when you were younger than the average kid of the same age. =0 Love seeing how good artists began. Though it appears that you already had a bit of a head start at age eleven as compared to someone like me. xD You must have practiced a lot. Good job and keep up the good work and keep on improving like this.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
